Stop Gay Kink Shaming my Fetishes

I recently read an article in a large online publication about “33 Weird And Disturbing Sexual Fetishes”, which got me thinking about gay kink-shaming.

The authors seemed freaked out that people could be turned on by anything outside the ordinary… but I found myself thinking about two things after I read through the list.

“Weird” is a Matter of Perspective

First of all, who do they think they are, telling other people what is or is not sexy?

What’s “weird” and “disturbing” to one may be “hot” and “steamy” to another, or vice versa. As long as everything with one’s uncommon fetish or kink is consensual, this seems like common sense to me. But apparently, it’s not to the closed-minded crowd.

Just because some guy thinks sticking his cock in the same woman for thirty years of bland “lovemaking” is how life should be, that doesn’t give him the right to kink shame and tell me where, how, who, or when I should be playing with during my own lustful sessions.

Kink Shaming Often Highlights Gay Kinks

Second of all, there was a lot on that kink-shaming list that seemed very dismissive of erotic symbols often associated with gay male sex.

The kink-shaming list mentioned different forms of bondage, which, as a person who loves male kink, I found really annoying. There was also mention of different forms of jerking off, and different types of cosplay and dressing up.

I wanted to tell the authors of this article to stay away from gay BDSM dating sites! On the best of them you can find all sorts of guys looking to get some gay kink and BDSM going – guys looking for costume play and male masturbation together, and guys looking to bring your favorite imaginary character to life.

Instead, I told my friends at Gay BDSM Date about that article, and we staged our own informal insurrection by posting comments and offering to send the author dick picks of our erections!

It’s 2022 gents, and we really don’t need to put up with gay kink-shaming and small-minded naysayers who overstep the boundaries of our equality anymore!
